Who Feels Love?
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish every one out there a very Merry Christmas.
In saying that, let's not forget those who celebrate Kwanzaa or Hanukkah. This is not the season of competitive holidays. I've heard enough things about whose holiday is better and which is more important. However, in the grand scheme of it all, nothing is more important than the love we share with one another.
The over-commercialization of the holiday season is starting to make me sick. It's not about the gifts you get or give. It's about the love that goes with them. By taking the time to think about what you're family or loved ones might want, it shows that you know and care about them. So, I'm saying, don't stop buying gifts, but don't just buy them because they asked for it, or it's the holiday season.
As it comes with the season, love is expected to be shown. However, what makes this different from the rest of the year? Are we expected to hate normally? Kids are told to be good, because Santa is watching...they should be told to be good all the time, not just now. It is not until the holidays are slapping in our face that we start treating other like we should.
So, this holiday season, let's act normal, and be loving...like we should be.
Happy Holidays.
-Nick.
